A local, 22-year-old motorcyclist died on Tuesday (3/19/19) after a crash with a Lyft vehicle. The lyft car accident happened on Fairview Road in Costa Mesa at approximately 8:50 p.m.
Officers responded and found the motorcyclist, from Irvine, unresponsive.
According to reports, the Lyft driver had just finished driving a Lyft passenger in the neighborhood. The Lyft car had no passengers at the time of the collision.

Uber and Lyft have been under scrutiny lately over safety concerns with their drivers. According to recent reports, the traffic fatality rates have increased in major cities following the introduction of ridesharing companies, such as Uber and Lyft, to that region.
